Android, iOS usage shares dip in November as BlackBerry gains

. Apple's iOS platform and Google's Android operating system both lost usage share in November as BlackBerry and Symbian showed gains. Analytics firm Net Applications on Thursday published its operating system market share data for the month of November, and momentum has shifted quite a bit compared to October. IOS slid more than seven points to drop to a 54% share in November, and Android shed two points to fall to 17%. Android also slipped out of the No.2 spot it claimed from Java ME in October as the feature phone platform jumped seven points to a 20% share last month.

Nokia just unveiled the latest addition to its featurephone lineup. The Nokia X2-02 is a dual-SIM smartphone running on the Series 40 UI that relies mainly on its attractive price tag to attract customers. The Nokia X2-02 is built around a 2.2" LCD of QVGA resolution (240x320 pixels). It has a couple of SIM slots, a SIM manager that makes managing them easier and even allows hot-swapping of SIM cards.

There's a 2MP camera and an FM radio receiver, an FM transmitter and a 3.5mm audio jack onboard the Nokia X2-02.

Apple, RIM, Samsung, and HTC sued over mobile displays

Apple, HTC, LG, RIM Samsung, and Sony have been hit by a patent infringement lawsuit brought forward by New York-based IP firm Graphics Properties Holdings (GPH). GPH investors present it as the successor of Silicon Graphics, which filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and sold most of its assets to Rackable. However, about 300 of SGI's patents ended up with GPH, which is monetizing SGI's former patents.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus caught in the wild

It's finally December and we still don't have a release date for when the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be released by Verizon. And while we don't have any updates on that front, it looks like the phone could be released pretty soon. The folks over at Phandroid received a bunch of photographs and a video showing off the Galaxy Nexus with Verizon branding, signifying that the phone is already ready. The phone is slightly thicker (Verizon has the LTE version) but it isn't a big deal since it wasn't that thick to begin with. The Galaxy Nexus has been reported to come pre-installed with Verizon bloatware despite it being a Nexus phone.
