[REVIEW] X-Mini shrunk the boom box and spiced it up

During Cebit this year, we got talking to the manager of XMI, the company behind the massively popular portable speaker revelation: The X-Mini. XMI agreed on us reviewing their latest innovations in their pocket speaker niche. We ended up testing their whole lineup.

VW Transporter Doubleback slides into production

VW Transporter Doubleback slides into production

Few automakers do camper vans quite so well as Volkswagen. From factory additions to aftermarket conversions, models like the Transporter seem perfect for on-the-go living. Now a company in the UK has taken the camper conversion one step further with the Doubleback. In addition to a large pop-up roof tent, the creation boasts an expandable aft section than can increase the vehicle's length by an additional 6.5 feet. The conversion is said to add just 286 pounds to the Transporter, and the mechanism expands in under 45 seconds to nearly double living space.

Liquid Metal iPhone 5 Concept Phone

Liquid Metal iPhone 5 Concept Phone

A designer by the name of Antoine Brieux has come up with a rather gorgeous concept for what the next-gen iPhone could look like. The French designer created the concept with the iPhone 5 in a high-performance Liquidmetal alloy casing along with some wishful specifications attached. The interesting part of this concept design is how the 'home' button has been replaced with a virtual 'home' button in exactly the same place ala Galaxy Nexus and this concept has a display that measures up at 4.5-inches and it is also a widescreen.

Lotus custom channels the Esprit of Ayrton Senna

Lotus custom channels the Esprit of Ayrton Senna

These days it seems like the dream of a new Lotus Esprit is getting nothing but further away, while the troubled company responsible for it applies the classic black and gold livery to everything it produces – and many things produced by others. But there was a time when the original Esprit was a mechanical wonder to behold, and the JPS livery was championed by arguably the greatest driver who ever lived. That driver, of course, was Ayrton Senna. And to mark the 18th anniversary of his death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, a German outfit called Cam-Shaft Premium Wrapping has created this special edition in his honor.

Jetpack Joyride iPad Game App Review

Jetpack Joyride iPad Game App Review

Jetpack Joyride is a new and exciting game from Halfbrick Studios, the same developers that made the highly popular Fruit Ninja. But instead of cutting up flying fruits with a katana, this new game features a game character named Barry Steakfries. Not only that, this game involves Barry suiting up jet packs to move around in a one-way adventure. In this game, Barry breaks into a secret laboratory to get the experimental jet packs off the hands of the evildoers and successfully escape. Players simply tap on the screen to make Barry and his jetpack fly and remove the fingers from the screen to descend.
