2013 Seat Leon SC

2013 Seat Leon SC

Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo, otherwise known as Seat, started becoming a part of the Volkswagen universe of companies way back in June of 1983, and it has taken right up until its latest generation of models for all the benefits of the VW Group empire to come to bear. Prior to the past couple of years, Seats have continued being built and sold passably well with a healthy enough rapport with VW, but the full tech swap and nod of faith had never totally happened yet from Wolfsburg. Now it must.

Elecom - USB link cable "UC-TV3BK" - Make your life much easier when you transfer data between computers - get ready to transfer from Windows XP to 7 or 8.

Elecom is releasing USB link cable “UC-TV3BK”, which will make your life much easier when you transfer data between computers. When support for Windows XP ends on April 2014, many people might be buying a new PC. Buying a new PC is always exciting but it will be a pain to transfer all the existing data in the current PC to the new one.
Connect a PC with XP and a PC with 7x8 with “UC-TV3BK” and install the dedicated utility program that is built-in to “UC-TV3BK”.

Detroit Electric SP:01 launch delayed by at least a month

Detroit Electric SP:01 launch delayed by at least a month

Startup EV-maker Detroit Electric is having a little trouble getting out of the gate, according to a report in The Detroit News. The (obviously) Detroit-based automaker says production of its SP:01 sports car (pictured) will be delayed by at least a month, citing problems with securing a manufacturing facility. When the SP:01 debuted in early April, Detroit Electric executives told members of the media that a facility in the metro Detroit area would be used to produce the SP:01. The Detroit News reports that the company is currently in talks with a partially occupied space in Plymouth Township and that it hopes to reach an agreement soon.

Dinos - Stylish "pair-look" matching raincoats for dogs and their humans - everyone wants to keep dry during Japan's rainy season!

In Tokyo, it was announced that the rainy season started on May 29, 10 days earlier than normal. It is due to last for about 45 days before the hot, humid summer weather starts. But who wants to get wet while sniffing around the bushes and watering the telephone poles.
Your dog and you can both make it through the rainy season, staying dry and fashionable, with great “pair-look” raincoats.

Doggy's fashionable orange raincoat is made to match mama's coat.

ASUS announces the MeMo Pad FHD 10: dual-core Intel Atom processor and a 1,920 x 1,200 display (hands-on)

The MeMo Pad FHD 10's build feels suitably solid, with the same slick Android experience (at least from our early test) you'd find from Android tablets with non-Intel mobile chipsets. We couldn't test the dual speaker setup - the unfortunate chaos of a very popular press event - but we'd expect the audio performance to be equal to ASUS' other recent tablets. The screen kept our web browsing and Android swipes looking crisp and clear. Colors were good, as were viewing angles. Rounding out the specs is 2GB of RAM, a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera and a front-facing 1.2-megapixel companion shooter.

NCAA rules cause golfer to be fined for washing her own car

NCAA rules cause golfer to be fined for washing her own car

Here's an odd one. Autoblog readers even remotely familiar with the vagaries of certain National Collegiate Athletic Association policies may not be surprised to hear it, but our colleges and universities get pretty jittery about making sure even small rules aren't broken. (Well, that's when they're not busy perpetrating major violations, we suppose.) But even this one seems pretty wild. The fuss started when an unnamed member of the woman's golf team (not pictured above) for a school in the West Coast Conference used a university hose and water supply to wash her car.

Audi A3-based people mover in the works

Audi A3-based people mover in the works

We have yet another announcement of yet another new Audi, including yet another obligatory quote from Audi research and development chief Wolfgang Dürheimer that there's room for it in the Audi range. On the sidelines of reports about the diesel-hybrid sports car, derived from the R18 endurance racer, there have been remarks about a possible MPV. Now Auto Express reports that said MPV "is on the way" and will be based on the A3 Sportback. Previous speculation has posited either a six- or seven-seat people carrier; if the AE report is to be believed then five seats is the number that's been settled on.
