GTA: San Andreas For iOS Released

GTA: San Andreas For iOS Released

We reported last month that Rockstar is going to release Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for mobile devices in December. At that point in time, Rockstar did not provide a concrete release date. If you have been waiting to go back to the early 90s where CJ and the Grove Street Families owned the town, you don't have to wait any longer. GTA: San Andreas for iOS has been released.
Unfortunately, the app is being rolled out in stages, which means that it isn't live in all countries at this point in time. Folks in New Zealand can already get their hands on it through the app store, it is expected that the title will make its way to the U.S.

GM's Barra could get big payday now that gov't no longer regulates salaries

One would expect that as the CEO of one of the largest automakers in the world, the pay would be pretty darn competitive. And for the just-announced incoming CEO of General Motors, Mary Barra, the financial compensation package could well be substantially rosier than it was for her predecessor. That's because she'll be the first exec at the company's helm since the federal government sold off its remaining interest in the company earlier this week.

Nokia Normandy is reportedly a low-cost Android phone

Nokia Normandy is reportedly a low-cost Android phone

According to a report in The Verge, the previously leaked, mysterious Nokia Normandy is an Android handset. Known internally under several different codenames, the device is said to be developed as an equivalent to the low-cost Nokia Asha range. The Nokia Normandy allegedly runs heavily modified Android version – much like in the case of the Amazon Kindle Fire range. The OS will allow the handset to run popular Android apps, thus addressing a major shortcoming of the current Nokia Asha lineup.

The Nokia Normandy development is described as going at Â"full steam aheadÂ". The handset is reportedly planned for a release in 2014.

LG Has Sold 2.3 Million LG G2 Units So Far

The LG G2 was launched a few months ago and features some pretty impressive hardware, especially its camera which seemed to take some pretty decent shots even in low-light conditions. Given its specs and mostly-favorable reviews, we would have expected the handset to be a huge success for LG, but as it turns out that might not be the case, at least so far. According to recent reports, the LG has only managed to sell 2.3 million LG G2 units to date, which is about 4 months since its release. This definitely falls short of LG's initial projections where they estimated that they would be able to hit 3 million units sold in Q3 alone.

Breaking down F1's 2014 regulations into layman's terms

Breaking down F1's 2014 regulations into layman's terms

Some racing series are easier to understand than others, but to put it mildly, Formula One is not NASCAR. With 500 members of each team spending millions upon millions each year to gain an advantage, F1 is about as technically complex as rocket science. But if you thought you had managed to wrap your head around the way things work, think again, because the series is undergoing a major overhaul of its technical regulations for the 2014 season. Of course, the biggest change is a switch from naturally aspirated 2.4-liter V8 engines to turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 powerplants, but that's not the sum total of the shift.

Huawei Ascend Mate 2 has recently leaked revealing design and pretty detailed specifications. We already know the phablet will run on HiSilicon's latest Kirin910 chipset with a 1.6GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 processor, Mali-450 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Naturally the Ascend Mate 2 will launch in China first. There it will be available in two models - MT2-C00 version (CDMA and GSM) for China Telecom and MT2-U071 (WCDMA and GSM) for China Unicom.

There is some controversy on the specs though. According to previous leaks via benchmark scores and even some live pictures, the Ascend Mate 2 is supposed to pack a 6.1x1080p IPS display.

You can finally store your Google Play Music songs on your SD card

You can finally store your Google Play Music songs on your SD card

One of my biggest complaints about Google Play Music was that the app could only store “pinned” music (music downloaded for offline listening) to a device's internal storage. Only have 4GB of internal storage but have 32GB of sweet microSD card space to fill. Tough luck. Not any more, though, as the latest Google Play Music upgrade finally brings us the ability to store cached music to the SD card. This should give users as much space as they need to have tons of their tunes available for those times when a strong internet connection isn't handy.

Fast and Furious pays tribute to Paul Walker on YouTube

With the untimely death of Paul Walker last weekend, production of Fast and Furious 7 was put on hold and the future of the franchise has been left in doubt, but showing that even this worst-case scenario means nothing in the grand scheme of things, the creators of the hugely popular car movie franchise have released a touching video tribute to Walker. The two-minute video is comprised of memorable scenes from the five F&F movies in which he starred, and the finishing shot shows him leaning against the European Mk1 Ford Escort his character piloted in the movie's most recent sixth installment.

The Nokia Lumia 929 has managed to escape the R&D labs once again and has been caught by yet another camera. The phone is touted as the smaller brother of the Lumia 1520 that's going to debut on Verizon's network in a matter of weeks. Earlier leaks of the Lumia 929 have revealed it will offer a 5.0x1080p display. The phone is also going to pack a 20MP PureView camera with ZEISS lens and dual-LED flash. This is the same configuration as the Lumia 1520 phablet.

This is not the first time the Lumia 929 poses for the camera.

Docomo Safety Mode Might Just Save Your Life

With the number of engaging apps on our mobile devices these days, it is extremely easy to get “lost” in them. For instance, just pay attention to any metropolitan area by sitting at the sidewalk with a cuppa, and see how many people actually do not really see where they are going. Rather, they would most probably be holding their smartphone with one or both hands, texting or sending some sort of update, or even talking on their mobiles, all without paying much attention to what is going on around.

Lamborghini's Lock out as American COO

It looks like Lamborghini is going to need a new executive to run its North American operations, as the man who's held the job until now has parted ways with the exotic automaker. That man is Michael Lock, who has held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Automobile Lamborghini America LLC for nearly two years now. We don't know what the reasons are for his departure, or for that matter whether the departure was instigated by Lamborghini or Lock.

Is Honda working on airbags for smartphones?

Is Honda working on airbags for smartphones?

Smartphones are expensive yet delicate - a single impact on a hard surface can shatter their touchscreens, often damaging them beyond repair. Fitting a case offers only so much protection, but what about an airbag. Honda has explored the concept with the airbag-equipped Case N and even made a video about it. But alas, it isn't real.
For some reason, we really want it to be.

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is busy tending to its flagship duties for Samsung, the heir to the Galaxy S4 is making headlines steadily building up the hype. The latest rumors concern its body and some of its specs. According to EMSOne, a Japanese-based website, ODM Catcher Technology (Taiwan), BYD (China) and Ju Teng (Taiwan) has been assigned to make between 10 and 30 million unibody metal shells for the next high-grade Galaxy device.

Samsung Patent Might Hint At Galaxy S5's Design

While we have been hearing a lot of Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors these days, if there's one thing we still don't about the phone is how it might look like. The rumors have suggested a metal body and a recently leaked photo showed off its alleged metal frame, and thanks to a recent patent by Samsung, perhaps the patent in question might clue us in to how the Galaxy S5 would look like. The photo above is the sketch of the design that Samsung had recently patented, although there's no telling if this design might be used for the Galaxy S5 or another device, but some have speculated that it could be Galaxy S5-related.

Samsung Galaxy S5 could use metal after all

Samsung Galaxy S5 could use metal after all

Trying to figure out when Samsung would be ballsy enough to make the switch to a metal chassis for their phones hasn't been the easiest of tasks. The company has been rumored to do it for the past two renditions of the Samsung Galaxy S4, and we've been disappointed each time. We saw them give it a go inside the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, but that particular device wasn't sold as widely as the original Galaxy S4. According to new reports, Samsung could finally be ready to make the jump to metal. No, seriously this time… I think.

Some might argue that the human eye wouldn't even be able to make having such technology worth it, with many folks believing anything far beyond 300ppi is overkill.

DRACOdesign VENTARE A iPhone 5 bumper case review

I have been riding motorcycles for nearly three decades and during that time I have owned several Ducatis that were fast, fun, and very nice/zippy looking. And while this iPhone 5x5S case is not really fast or as fun as a 998, it is very nice looking without a doubt. The folks at DRACOdesigns have partnered with Ducati to create the VENTARE A, a sleek aluminum and polycarbonate iPhone 5x5S bumper case. Their goal was to not only design a case that will protect your smartphone but add a bit of Italian flare to your iPhone along the way.

Since Evo first got its hands on a Pagani Huayra for testing, about a year after the hypercar debuted, Horacio Pagani's pride and joy has made a few video appearances – once in the hands of Chris Harris and once with a man who compared his new Huayra with an older Zonda on track. But access to the 900,000-euro ($1.22 million) hypercar has been limited, making XCar's recent drive a real treat. The shape is beautifully simple, with active aerodynamics combining function with form that remind us more than a bit of the flaps or ailerons on the wings of a jet.

The important question, however, on most potential customers minds is when does the device get an Android 4.4 update. According to Court Elliot, a representative of the company who spoke with Mobile Syrup, the G2 should have the latest version of our favorite operating system by the end of Q1 2014, skipping Android 4.3 completely. Count me a bit disappointed.

iOS Outdoes Android During The Thanksgiving And Black Friday Shopping Period

Different people choose smartphone platforms for different reasons. Some choose it for its ease of use, some choose it for its looks, some choose it for the hardware that comes with it, and etc., and while those valid reasons, does it also mean that usage will differ from platform to platform. Well it seems that as far as online shopping is concerned, it would seem as though Apple's iOS platform managed to beat out Android during the Thanksgiving and Black Friday periods. This is according to IBM who claims that they have managed to track millions of transactions worth terabytes of data from about 800 US retail websites.
