Opera updates two Android mobile browsers

Opera has not one, but two mobile browsers for Android-powered device owners to choose from, so it is nice to know that Opera decided to roll out upgrades for both – notching the version numbers to Opera Mini 6.1 and Opera Mobile 11.1. They are both ready for action over at the Android Market, with support for Google voice search thrown in alongside Google AutoComplete and Intelligent domain suggest. Those ought to make your search process faster, including when entering a URL, while providing alternative sites to check out just in case you were bored of flipping channels, deciding to surf random websites instead.

Root was achieved by Android dev agrabren, though the exploit in question isn’t available to the general public just yet. DeLorme GPS Handheld Sends SMS Via Satellite

DeLorme's GPS unit lets you send short messages without cellphone coverage. Delorme's InReach GPS Communicator lets you send text messages, even when you are in the wilderness and far away from cellphone coverage. As befits a GPS device, it's all done with satellites. Delorme has teamed up with Iridium, the satellite phone people, to offer a $10-per-month messaging package.

It works in two ways. First of all, you can set three messages before you head out and then “send” any of them direct from the device.

HP, the largest manufacturer of personal computers in the world is currently talking to different parties about licensing their webOS mobile software, according to Chief Executive Officer Leo Apotheker. He mentioned that "we are talking to a number of companies. I can share with you that a number of companies have expressed interest. We are continuing our conversations.".
This is an interesting development, as it would provide hardware manufacturers with an alternative to Google's Android and Windows from Microsoft.

Scientists Print Our Solar Cells Using Inkjet Technology

Inkjet printers stopped being cool a long time ago, although they are a cheaper alternative to laser printers if you don't mind waiting. However it looks like the inkjet still has its uses, and its latest use is by far its most noble one. It seems that scientists from Oregon State University (OSU) have managed to print solar cells using an inkjet printer. They claim to be the first to put together a “CIGS” solar device, through the use of inkjet printing.

Remember the HTC Status, or better known as the HTC ChaCha, which will arrive over at AT&T. It is rather safe to assume that when you first saw Minority Report with its unique technology, especially the way they manipulated their computers using nothing but fingers, you ought to be blown away if you had half the techie interest. Gotta love the way interacting with the user-interface required but a few hand gestures. How long will it be, you wonder, before such technology arrives at your doorstep and your home PC. The mighty UK car-selling magazine and web site has just launched an Android app, offering us a chance to browse for possible new automobiles from our mobile phones. The free Android app uses a simplified version of the web site interface, letting shoppers browse by post code, car type and specify a price range for the results. There's a little “share” menu on each listing, which also pops up the dialer complete with the seller's phone number, should you need to ring a man about a car.

European HTC EVO 3D now official, to start selling in July

Well it is official, folks - the European version of the HTC EVO 3D has just been officially announced. And it will only take Europeans until July to be able to actually purchase one of those. The HTC 3D pioneer comes with a couple of 5 MP snappers on its back and a hardware two-position shutter button, which is pretty rare for an Android. Speaking of which, the EVO 3D comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is the latest version of the Google OS designed for smartphones.
There's a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood and a qHD (540x960) 3D screen, using the parallax barrier technology on top.

Taiwan Company Claims 7-Inch HP TouchPad Coming Soon

After unveiling the 9.7-inch WiFi-only TouchPad and a 3G/ WiFi counterpart, HP is said to be building a 7-inch version of the TouchPad that will be released in August. If you are one of many who prefer a more portable tablet, this should come as good news. The news came out from Taiwan Economic News, which reported a claim from an Inventec employee that HP ordered up to 450,000 tablets every month from their company. Among those orders, according to the source, is a 7-inch TouchPad.

Nokia has jumped over to the Windows Phone 7 bandwagon, and even killed off its own MeeGo and Symbian OS. Many yearned why Nokia didn't jump onboard the Android ship, but it seemed that Nokia did flirt around with Android before deciding on Mr Elop's ex-company. We don't know if this device is “super confidential” or not, but we've just come across yet another Nokia N9 lookalike with a non-MeeGo operating system on board. Well, it looks that way, anyhow.

Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet - one-off wedding limo for a prince and princess's fairy tale

It's definitely unique, this one, a Lexus LS 600h L with only half a roof. It's called the Landaulet, and the one-off vehicle - reworked with a one-piece transparent polycarbonate roof fitment - is set to serve as Prince Albert II of Monaco and Carlene Wittstock's official royal wedding car on July 2. The conversion work was carried out by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet, working closely with Lexus engineers based in Brussels.

Happinet displayed a virtual table tennis game which can be played against an invisible opponent at the Tokyo Toy Show 2011. The table tennis bat contains a speaker and motion sensors and the player must find their rhythm and time their hits to the audio feedback to continue the rally. There are two gameplay modes, Rhythm mode and Rally mode, with Rally mode having two settings, easy and hard, which affect the tempo of the rally. “The name of this product is “Go with the rhythm! Hyper Ping Pong”. Basically, the product is a full size table tennis bat, and you can play table tennis by yourself just by swinging the bat.
