Fresh Windows 8.1 Build 9385 Leaked Images Reveal New Additions

Just a few days back Windows 8.1 build 9385 leaked screenshots popped up on the internet. This particular build isn't available on file sharing websites, yet, though that hasn't stopped some fresh screenshots from being posted online. One of the additions hinted at by these screenshots include better developer tools for Internet Explorer 11. Developers are likely to get an entirely new interface for a variety of options, including debugging. The Kiosk Mode that was discovered a couple of weeks ago has apparently been renamed to “Assigned access.” Kiosk mode will enable the device user profile to be locked down to a single app.

iOS 7 Allegedly Gets Detailed Ahead Of WWDC

With WWDC coming soon, we guess there are some things which we can more or less assume will be announced, namely Apple's next major update to their iOS operating system iOS 7. iOS 7 is probably the most highly anticipated iOS update especially since Apple's industrial designer, Jony Ive, will be the one at the helm of the team since he took over Scott Forstall's place back in 2012. We've been hearing rumors about iOS 7 and thanks to the folks at 9to5 Mac, they have managed to obtain some intel about some of the changes that will be made to the operating system.

Sony's 2014 Alpha Lineup Expected To Outshine Nikon And Canon [Rumor]

When it comes to cameras, the big names up there are Canon and Nikon, although it was several years ago when Sony introduced their Alpha series of DSLR cameras that Sony became one of the brands that many professional photographers started turning to. Perhaps on the surface it might seem that the competition is more or less on par with each other, but according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, they have received a tip, or rather an opinion, from one of their "top sources" that come 2014, Sony plans to outshine the competition with their new Alpha lineup of cameras.

Revisiting The Runabout Of Record. The current Honda Fit has been around the block a few times. The subcompact hatch has soldiered on without significant revision since its first update for US customers in 2009, and while Honda is on the verge of launching a third generation, we thought we'd take the time to see how the runabout stacks up against the new wave of small, efficient and plucky five-doors now on the American market.

US Treasury denies pay hikes for GM, Ally execs

US Treasury denies pay hikes for GM, Ally execs

In December, the US Treasury granted General Motors the rights for the company to once again buy corporate jets and for its executives to fly on them, but neither those execs nor the ones at Ally Financial will get any raises this year. The automaker, worried that top talent might leave for higher-paying pastures, reportedly sought a more "market-based approach to executive compensation" for 12 of its top 25 execs. Because the federal government still has stakes in both GM and Ally, though, the companies need approval for pay raises, and they were declined.

It seems that the spanking new ZTE Blade C which we first talked about at the end of January this year, touting an European release "soon", is now available for purchase – not in Europe, but rather, in one of Asia's most vibrant financial hubs, that is, Hong Kong, for the equivalent of approximately $165 after conversion.

Next Gen Xbox Expected To Be Called Xbox Infinity, Might Have Touch Controllers

There has been a steady stream of Xbox related rumors even after Microsoft announced that it will be revealing its upcoming console on the 21st of May. Rumor has it that Microsoft will name the next generation console Xbox Infinity, this of course contradicts previous rumors which claim that the company will simply be calling it the Xbox. The Xbox 720 moniker has been thrown around a lot as well, but we'll know for sure what its called when Microsoft officially announces it. Several sources are cited in a new report which says that the next generation Xbox controllers will have a clickable touch sensitive area.

LG Optimus GK Comes With 5-Inch Display

Is it just me, or do South Korean smartphone manufacturers just love the option of having plenty of choice when it comes to the kind of mobile communications device that you use. Take the Samsung Galaxy S series for instance, we have seen more than our fair share of different variants of a particular model, and LG is not absolved from this particular phenomenon, too, if you would allow me to call it just that. The LG Optimus G, for instance, has just received a new variant which specifically targets folks living in South Korea, where this new model is called the LG Optimus GK.

Apple And Nuance Deliberating Bringing Swype Keyboard To iOS

Most Android users are familiar with Swype keyboard, it is an intelligent virtual keyboard which makes typing faster as users don't have to punch in letters like they would normally have to do. By sliding the thumb over letters that make up a certain word, user's will be given the most accurate word suggestion based on the swiping of their thumb. Only recently the folks at Nuance released Swype 1.5 for Android and finally dropped the beta tab. This keyboard is much loved by Android users and there might be a possibility that the technology will come over to iOS.

Sony Xperia ZR Rumor Making Its Rounds

Sony Xperia ZR Rumor Making Its Rounds

There is a new rumor going around of an unannounced smartphone that has been called the Sony Xperia ZR, and just what kind of hardware specifications will it pack. Apparently, whispers on the street concerning the Sony Xperia ZR would be a 720p display, a quad-core processor and a 13-megapixel camera. A 720p display would mean it has no Full HD display, and that might place it in the mid-range scheme of things, instead of occupying the high end range.

Shelby Cobra driver says 'Hey, y'all, watch this!'

A burnout is like a boast, the rubber-shredding equivalent of Babe Ruth pointing his fingers at the center-field bleachers. And everyone knows once you've boasted, you've got to back it up. If The Babe had grounded out to first, the "Called Shot" would be a laugh, not a legend. After doing a little burnout for the onlookers, the driver of this Shelby Cobra replica above ends up on the wrong side of the equation when his Cobra bites back. Thankfully, nothing but bodywork and some pride was hurt. Hopefully the driver has learned his lesson and knows to lift off the brakes and steer next time.

With core battery technology on a bit of a long-winded innovation pace folks are always coming up with unique ways to solve the issue of needing more juice on the go. We haven't seen something quite as unique as this, though — the Siva Cycle Atom. It's a battery pack that intertwines with your bicycle and gets recharged by pedaling. It can charge any device that uses USB for power, which notably includes most Android smartphones and some tablets. The Atom can directly charge your device or store power in the included 1,300 mAh battery pack for use later on.

Nintendo Won't Hold An E3 2013 Press Conference To Focus On Smaller, Direct Events

We think it's safe to say considering how Nintendo's Wii U has been performing lately, the world will be tuning into their E3 press conference this year in anticipation to hear what exactly they have planned to turn things around for the company. That was probably the plan for many gamers around the world, but it looks like they'll have to look for their Nintendo information elsewhere as the company has announced they won't be holding a press conference at this year's E3.

We were originally ready to buy HTC's story that the HTC One couldn't have a microSD card slot because of its intricate, gap-free design. It's one of the biggest features users have been missing alongside a user-removable battery. Well, it looks like one group of would-be HTC One owners will be getting at least one of those features once the device launches. The Chinese HTC One will apparently sport a microSD card slot. That much is advertised on HTC's very own site.

Are you one of the new generation office drones who love nothing better than to cycle to work. Not only do you get to work out along the way, it also helps reduce the amount of greenhouse emissions, not to mention help keep more vehicles of the road. Well, cyclists too, like normal motorists, might venture into unfamiliar territory once in a while, which is why they too, have GPS devices to help them out. The thing is, what happens when you run out of juice before you arrive at your destination. This is where portable power packs come in handy, but those can be quite messy to tote around.

PlayStation 4 To Feature Strongest Launch Lineup To Date

Sony knows that they are going to do all that they possibly can to make sure that their next generation console, the PlayStation 4, will be the top dog among next generation consoles. So far, the Wii U has taken a totally different path yet again, so the closest competitor to the PlayStation 4 would most probably be the upcoming Xbox (which looks set to be announced later this May 21st by the way) in terms of hardware. If you have a PS3 at the moment, do not see the PlayStation 4 as an upgrade, but rather, as a new addition to the console family in your living room.

Freemium is another one of Android's “f-words” that never really seems to sit well with users (fragmentation being the other). Most often used to describe games in the Play Store that are free-to-play, but also impossible to beat without forking over tons of dough via in-app purchases. It's because of this Android users typically wince whenever they hear the mention of the word. Looks like another Android developer is looking to embrace the freemium business model, but it's not another game. Enter Plume and Beautiful Widgets creator LevelUp Studio.

T-Mobile's HTC One originally launched online April 19th, but if you wanted to buy the device in-person you had to wait until today. Well… today is here, so you should be able to waltz into a T-Mobile store and nab your very own HTC One. I say “should” because T-Mobile is only promising that you'll be able to find it in “select” stores. That means you'll want to call before you make the excited drive over to one of the carrier's retail locations.
On T-Mobile's new UNcarrier plan you can walk away with the device for a $99 down payment, and pay the device off in 24 monthly installments of $20.

Huawei outlines plan to regain its share of European smartphone market

Huawei outlines plan to regain its share of European smartphone market

Shao added that this year Huawei will also continue to accumulate the capability of producing or better sourcing chipset, display, power management, ID, material and connection. That said, it's unlikely that the company will end up manufacturing all of these by itself - Huawei is not in a position to have significant cash reserve or large-size acquisitions, said EVP Eric Xu in an earlier session; though he didn't rule these out entirely, either. As for 2014 and 2015, the focus will shift to the software side, especially Huawei's Android-based Emotion UI and cloud services.

It was December 2012 when THQ filed for bankruptcy, which ultimately led to the publisher disbanding and selling off its assets. The majority of their assets were sold to various publishers, but one of the company's most recently popular developer and their IP weren't announced to have been purchased by anyone. Of course, we're talking about Vigil Games and their Darksiders franchise. But this week, a European publisher called Nordic Games made shockwaves across the gaming world as they were announced to be the winners of the Darksiders franchise.

Those of us who like a little style injected into our greenery will appreciate the Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe Concept seen above. Like the original seven-seat non-coupe version of the crossover first seen at the Detroit Auto Show, this five-seat machine from Shanghai features a high-tech drivetrain that consists of twin electric motors, one up front and one at the rear, that get juice from a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. Under the hood sits a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6 in place of the turbo-diesel of the Detroit version.
