Razer to make left handed Naga gaming mouse

Razer to make left handed Naga gaming mouse

Remember the post we wrote yesterday about Razer considering the creation of a left-handed Naga gaming mouse if its Facebook announcement hit 10,000 likes. Well, sure enough - it did. The post hit 10,000 likes in less than a week (3 weeks ahead of deadline) which shows that there is a demand for such a mouse. And it looks like Razer is keeping to its promise. Min-Liang Tan announced today on Facebook that Razer will be making a left-handed Naga - a victory for all the left-handed gamers out there.

Unfortunately, we won't be seeing the mouse on the market anytime soon.

AT&T HTC One X may arrive on May 6

AT&T's LTE-enabled version of the HTC One X (which is known elsewhere as the One XL) could arrive in stores on May 6, according to the latest leak on the matter. Best Buy has been taking pre-orders for the smartphone ever since last month. And that particular retailer is where this rumor allegedly originated. See, the story goes that Best Buy sent a customer who pre-ordered a One X an email in which it said that the phone would be delivered on May 6. Of course we're meant to believe that this was all a mistake on Best Buy's part (publicizing the date, not the date itself).

Facebook reportedly looking to retool its search function

Could Facebook be looking to take Google as far as search engines are concerned. While that remains unclear, a recent report has suggested that Facebook could be looking to improve its own search engine and has reportedly set 24 Facebook engineers to the task. The team will be led by ex Google engineer, Lars Rasmussen who helped create Google Maps and Wave. The goal is to transform Facebook's search tool into an easier and more accurate experience by using the Like button as a form of guidance.

Intuit shows off MicroMint concept app for the WIMM One smartwatch, we go hands-on

Given the amount of time we spent with the WIMM One smartwatch, you'd think we would have had enough fodder for a full-blown review. Alas, though, one critical piece was missing: apps. Not test apps, like a balance ball game, but honest to goodness apps from major third-party developers. As it happens, the app store still isn't live yet, but we did get to check out a concept app from Intuit, the company behind Mint.com (no TurboTax for this 1.41-inch display, sorry). What can we say. When a device has a screen this tiny, the elevator pitch is going to be mighty brief.

Apple settles with iPhone 4 users over Antennagate for $15

Apple settles with iPhone 4 users over Antennagate for $15

Apple's iPhone 4 launch was marred by something the tech press dubbed ‘Antennagate.' The phone's new antenna design meant that holding the phone in a certain (and fairly common) way meant decreased signal and even dropped calls. Apple fixed the issue by offering every iPhone 4 owner a free bumper case that would protect the antenna from human interference. However, not everyone wanted to use a case or bumper with their phone and Apple has finally settled with customers not satisfied with the offer of a free bumper.

Incident Tech's gTar gets teased, remains largely silent (video)

What you see above is the gTar, an upcoming electronic musical instrument from Bay Area-based startup, Incident Technologies. It's got what appears to be an iPhone docked in the pick-guard and it looks pretty cool lit up in the teaser video after the break. Beyond that, there's not a ton of information about the thing available online, but we did some digging and have pieced together a pretty good idea about the thing. The device made an appearance at South by Southwest earlier this month, and bits and pieces have made their way into the web by way of startup site AngelList and social networks like Facebook, Twitter and, of course, YouTube.

ViewSonic ViewPad VS14445 passes through the FCC's database

ViewSonic's ViewPad VS14445 - also known as the ViewPad 10e - has been kicking around since CES, and other parts of the globe have had access for a few months now. That said, those in America who've been holding out for this particular Android slate won't have to wait much longer. A drop by the FCC's database typically means that a product is just weeks away from being on store shelves, and considering that we've already been waiting months on end to get from 'hands-on' to 'now shipping' in this part of the world, hopefully it'll be out and about before long. Hoping that it'll run Ice Cream Sandwich.

What this means for the final version of Windows 8 is still far from known, however, Winunleaked offers up a new clue with the Pro Pack edition labeled as ProfessionalWMC. It's hard to know however, if this is just a different SKU for the Professional version of Windows 8 or a glimpse of something that will impact multiple version of the new operating system.

Back in Black? California mulling return of vintage-style plates

Back in Black? California mulling return of vintage-style plates

California Assemblyman Mike Gatto has introduced Bill 1658, which could eventually return three kinds of vintage license plates to California roads: yellow and black plates from the mid 1950s, black and yellow plates from the 1960s – such as the sample 1963 plate pictured – and blue and yellow plates from the '70s. The initiative is called the Legacy License Plate Program, but before you collectors and period-correct enthusiasts salivate over – or lament – the possibilities, it has a few hurdles to clear. First, the bill has to be passed when its put to a vote on April 9, which is expected.

Nokia Morph patent application submitted

Nokia might be lagging far behind in terms of smartphone market share at the moment, but that does not mean their precarious position is going to remain that way forever. No sir, after all, Nokia of all organizations should know that things change in either an instant, or over time, as they have fallen victim to the latter ever since the Apple iPhone was introduced in 2007. RIM's BlackBerry has suffered as well, but that is a different story for another day. Nokia might have an ace up their proverbial sleeve after submitting a patent application for the Nokia Morph.

GSM versions of the device are now receiving the update, but it is still unclear what exactly is changed. We’ve heard from readers that it does seems a bit “zippier,” and “smoother,” but that’s about it. There should be a lot more going on, though, as it’s said there are over 100 changes over 4.0.3. Fingers crossed that owners of the CDMA versions of these devices will get the update before the apocalypse rises.

Google currently lays claim to the largest Internet IPO, having raised $1.9 billion in 2004.

Nokia Lumia 800c hits the China market

Nokia was once a mighty juggernaut where mobile phones are concerned, but that fact did not guarantee its position as top dog – no sir, far from it. In fact, you can say that the introduction of the iPhone from Apple in 2007 proved to be the start of Nokia's decline, although the Finnish company has certainly done their bit in arresting the slide. One of the more recent masterstrokes would be to make sure they sided with the Windows Phone platform from Microsoft, where we have already reviewed both the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710. How about trying to make a headway into the world's most populous country.

According to the automaker, the vehicle didn't just waltz past sales projections. It crushed them. Last year, 3,193 Equus models went home to loving families, and while that's not a huge number by any stretch of the imagination, the figure is well better than the 2,000 units Hyundai expected to sell. It was also good enough to snag the company a 5.7-percent share of the premium luxury sedan segment in 2011.

The recent update to Microsoft's Xbox Live service should keep most folks happy, especially when it carries new content from Comcast's video-on-demand service as well as HBO Go. Comcast and HBO were part of the group of new content partners from the get go when Microsoft first announced changes to its Xbox Live user interface and new content deals in October last year, and it seems rather strange to have them being one of the last partners to jump aboard throughout the entire staggered updates from Microsoft across the span of a few months.

Android gamers not cheapskates after all, according to Humble Bundle data

Ever since the early days of Android its users have been stereotyped as folks who aren't too keen on paying for their software. The myth has been kept afloat by a plethora of ad-supported titles available via the official Google Play Store (once the Android Market) and a handful of developer horror stories lauding the much more profitable nature of iOS deployment. We can't forget accusations of Android users turning to pirated software to avoid shelling out any dough. So the picture being painted here shows Android users as quite the penny pinchers it would seem.
