Porsche 918 Spyder enters next phase, prototypes begin testing

Porsche has announced that its world's first plug-in hybrid “supercar”, the 918 Spyder, has just entered the next phase after finishing a series of driving trials. Porsche said that the super car is designed as a plug-in hybrid vehicle that has a high-performance combustion engine and cutting-edge electric motors. The German car manufacturer also mentioned that its racing machine will feature more than 770 HP and a fuel consumption of three liters per 100 kilometers. If you think that's cool, the 918 Spyder will be sporting a monocoque design made from full carbon fiber reinforced plastic or CFRP.
