Zynga goes up against 2 more lawsuits

It is not surprising that in this day and age, something sweet and beautiful can turn sour in the blink of an eye. Take Zynga Inc. for instance, at one point in the company's history, it more or less could not do any wrong, especially when you consider how all of its “Ville” games on Facebook were more or less a runaway hit.

United 787 Dreamliner emerges from Boeing factory, complete with golden head-to-tail 'swoop'

The first US-based 787 carrier is inching closer to its Dreamliner service launch. United Airlines celebrated the plane's rollout today at Boeing's Everett, Washington factory. The aircraft, which is set to begin international service later this year, received a custom livery, which includes a curved "swoop" - which oddly enough appears to be the focus of design chatter. That may just be because the public has yet to take a peek inside, though we did have an opportunity to hitch a ride on ANA's variant last year, which has been flying throughout Japan since late 2011.

. Dropbox has issued an official statement today regarding a security compromise that happened over the past few weeks. According to the company, a number of user emails were leaked which has caused a plague of spam emails in the inbox of these users. The hacker used a stolen password to access an employee account and steal a company document with user emails on it.
In the weeks that followed, users started to receive tons of spam emails and concluded that it was the same email as their Dropbox account email. They began to raise the issue in the forum and Dropbox finally admitted to the breach today.

We were seriously considering turning a deaf ear to yesterday's rumors about Apple shifting their expected launch date to September 12, much like we did with that August launch rumor. Still, we decided to run the story and today, the rumor is getting even more supporting evidence thanks to Reuters and AllThingsD, who claim independently that unnamed sources of theirs confirm the speculated date.

Alltel customers brought under the Verizon umbrella have been getting more and more signals that it's time to let go of that legacy phone. The latest red flag is a letter that Droid-Life understands is making its way to holdout customers. According to one copy, Verizon will start shutting down the remnants of Alltel's data service on or near January 10th, 2013. Alltel's mobile data should be completely inert after April that year - and those still clinging to the past will be down to basic phone calls and SMS until they get Verizon-blessed devices.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus sales to continue despite trial

Apple and Samsung have come to a head and locked horns good and proper in the courtroom, and there are plenty of lawsuits and injunctions being thrown about from left to right and to one another. Well, one development that should be duly taken note of would be the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit extending the temporary stay of Judge Lucy Koh's preliminary injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Basically, what we are saying is this – the Samsung Galaxy Nexus can still be sold by Samsung in the US without any steps taken to halt sales of its nature.

What Changed DOE Secretary Steven Chu's Mind About Hydrogen Fuel Cells. Natural gas now being retrieved from shale provides an enormous source of hydrogen. When Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize winning physicist, was named Secretary of the Department of Energy in the Obama Administration, he quickly redirected much of the Department's automotive research efforts into battery electric vehicles. So much so that proponents of hydrogen fuel cells complained loudly that the Secretary was starving their research efforts.

Automakers will no doubt welcome the Secretary's change of heart.
