Uh-oh, it looks like both Apple and LG could be in trouble after Alcatel-Lucent's Multimedia Patent Trust filed a lawsuit against both companies alleging that they infringed upon patents with regards to video compression technology. According to the patent trust's attorney, Frederick Lorig, it seems that they have given Apple and LG a chance to license their patents but both companies did not do so, while claiming that 33 other companies have already licensed their patents and have paid about $190 million in licenses to date.

2014 Fiat 500L rounds out the model range

LG has announced a new air conditioning unit which appears to have been designed for the African market in mind, such as Nigeria where malaria is prevalent. How does air conditioning help combat malaria, you ask. Well it seems that in this particular unit, also known as the "Anti-Mosquito" air conditioner, it utilizes ultrasonic wave technology which helps to repel mosquitos which in turn helps to prevent malaria. Jeep supplier denies responsibility for airbag recall

Kemet Corporation, an electrical component manufacturer, has denied claims by Chrysler officials that it is responsible for a massive Jeep recall. On November 9, Chrysler announced it was recalling 920,000 Jeep vehicles after receiving more than 100 reports of unintended airbag deployments. While no crashes or injuries were reported, Chrysler filed documents with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration saying that supplier TRW Automotive had made a material change in the airbag module, and that the change was responsible for the deployments.
