Motorola DROID MAXX official bumper case review

With great power comes great responsibility, and with great smartphones comes an even greater need to protect them. That's what I set out to do with the device I plan on using for at least the next six months — the Motorola DROID Maxx — while I was at the Verizon store helping my sister and mom but the new iPhone 5S last week. I settled on the official bumper case for $20, as I am not too worried about the back of this particular phone getting damaged (Kevlar-coated backing for the win). So how has it fared for me so far.

We've seen automakers partner with bicycle manufacturers on numerous sets of wheels in the past. Some tempt and disappoint, but this strikes us as one of the cooler auto-branded bikes we've seen. (But then this writer has always been partial to Italian style.). Born of a collaboration between the Alfa Romeo Style Centre and Compagnia Ducale, the 4C IFD bicycle is designed to complement Alfa's new lightweight sports car with an "Innovative Frame Design".

Volkswagen built a stonking, narrow-angle V6 in the 1980s and 1990s that was found in three different generations of the Golf (their performance iterations, obviously), three generations of the Passat, the New Beetle, the Corrado and the Touareg, among other VWs, a spate of Audis, Seats, a Skoda, and even the Porsche Cayenne. It was a sad day when it was announced that it'd be put out to pasture. Rejoice, though, fans of the venerable VR6, because Volkswagen has a new, modern variant in the works that, according to AutoWeek, features direct injection and can easily be fitted with forced induction.

It was there they announced a handful of new features that will make Google Search better than ever before.

2014 Lexus GS gets eight-speed auto, other enhancements

The Lexus GS was totally redesigned for the 2013 model year, but Lexus is already tweaking its midsize luxury sedan. While a handful of small changes are being made, the big news for the 2014 model year is that rear-wheel-drive GS350 models will be getting a new eight-speed automatic transmission for improved fuel economy and performance. Official EPA estimates have yet to be released, but Lexus expects this new transmission to return 19 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway – an improvement of 1 mpg highway.

Folks in the Google Glass Explorers program might be feeling a bit slated that it's not easy to get third-party apps up on the platform just yet (after all, developers did pay $1,500 to own the thing). As it stands there are a multitude of options, such as Google Hangouts, Facebook Messenger, Line, and etc., but if you're a heavy BBM user, it seems that during the BlackBerry Jam Asia 2013, BlackBerry showed off BBM running on a Windows computer, essentially mirroring the app on a desktop platform, similar to how BBM would be mirrored on the Playbook tablet.

Just what is the most anticipated smartphone at the moment. I suppose it is no longer the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c from Apple, especially since both of these devices were announced recently, and made available to the masses just last week. I guess that particular mantle would now fall on the shoulders of the Nexus 5, making it the final last "huge" announcement for the year. The Samsung Galaxy Note phablets are some of the best-selling smart devices around – the original Note has around 10 million sales to date, while the outgoing Note II has reached 30 million. There numbers come from general manager of Samsung Taiwan's mobile communication team Andy Tu. This sounds about right as JK Shin himself (Samsung Mobile's chief) said that the Galaxy Note line has sold over 38 million a couple of weeks ago.
