It was only a couple of weeks ago that Sony's VP of digital reading, Phil Lubell let slip that there is a new Sony reader in the works. The device which has been said to be a Kindle competitor should be making its way to the shelves come August, which is just shortly after the launch of Sony's S1 and S2 tablets. As it turns out, the reader was recently spotted at the FCC sporting the model PRS-T1. Unfortunately not much else is known about the device other than it has WiFi capabilities, although we're not sure if Sony has plans to make a 3G capable device as well.
