Popular Science has revealed their annual “Best of What’s New” list, and NVIDIA’s dual-core Tegra 2 chipset has been honored in the “Gadgets” category. The Tegra 2 chip was a real breakthrough this year, quickly becoming the top choice for companies developing top-of-the-line Android tablets. It was used as the reference chipset in the debut Honeycomb slate, the Motorola XOOM, and has since made its way to smartphones. Other chipset makers have followed suit and arguably outdid NVIDIA, but there is little arguing with the game-changing results the Tegra 2 brought about.
