More than one in five U.S. households have a TV connected to the Internet

รข€‹Approximately 27 million U.S. households, more than one in five, have either an Internet-ready TV, game console, standalone Blu-ray player, and/or smart set-top box connected to their home network, according to ABI Research. Gaming consoles are the most popular devices, with a connection rate of over 80%, followed by Internet TVs (27%), standalone Blu-ray players (24%) and smart set-top boxes (13%). The research also indicated that a relatively large number of consumers have not connected some devices to their home network, most notably Internet-ready TVs.

If you have an iPhone 4 or 4S and you love the smell of chocolate as well as the color brown, the folks over at ThinkGeek have decided to incorporate all of those above and given you the aptly named Chocolate Scented iPhone 4 Case which should fit on the latest iPhone 4S that shares the same dimensions. The case is designed to look like a bar of animated chocolate with a smiley face on the back that would even make you smile. The differentiating thing about this iPhone 4x4S case from many of the other choices though is that this one has been packed incorporated via an unknown method to smell strongly of chocolate.

Facebook Password Could be Protected with New Bill Proposed in Congress

A new bill has been proposed by Representative Eliot Engel which would make it illegal for potential employers to acquire job applicants' Facebook passwords. The Social Networking Online Protection Act or "SNOPA" has been introduced to Congress and if the legislation is passed, it would prohibit employers from requiring current or potential employees to hand in their login details the any employer. SNOPA will also effectively make it illegal for employers to make use of content found online to discriminate against potential employees who are looking for a job.

Samsung applies for patent on emotional recognition, wants to feel out how you're feeling

Samsung might not give off the immediate impression of a warm, fuzzy company, as it really comes off more like a faceless device-manufacturing juggernaut, but that doesn't stop it trying to get a handle on what people are feeling. According to a recent patent application, the company is putting together a method of recognizing the emotions of an individual based on action units (AUs). And what exactly are those. They're components of a facial action coding system: something designed to reference the contractions of facial muscles.

Audi releases first Truth in 24 II trailer

Three years ago, Audi released the documentary Truth in 24 highlighting its three-car effort at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Despite the Four Ring's success at the race in the last decade, they were undoubtedly the underdogs to the much faster Peugeot teams that year, making for a Hollywood-like ending when Audi managed to take home the victory with teamwork and a little help from the weather. The first film was such a success that Audi announced earlier this year that they would release Truth in 24 II, once again featuring their three-car team battling Peugeot at the world's most famous endurance race.

Adding to the Samsung Galaxy S3 frenzy is another rumor about the smartphone's notable specs, apparently taken from AnTuTu's benchmark database. As previously reported, it seems that the CPU is point blank. We're staring at the Exynos SoC clocking at 1.4 GHz, although we are also hearing rumors that the Exynos could be a dual-core. Contrary to some rumors saying that the GS3 will be arriving with a 2 GB RAM, it's a bit surprising to see that it only has 1 GB of RAM. The 4.7-inch display with 720 x 1280 resolution also appears to be reasonable as well as the cameras – a 12 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2 megapixel at the front.

We've had the chance to sample Mercedes-Benz's so-called Magic Sky Control technology in both the SL and SLK roadsters, and it's a pretty clever party trick. The technology can turn the overhead roof panel in either of the two-seaters from transparent to opaque by energizing the light-blocking crystals sandwiched in the glass. By electrifying the crystals, they reorder themselves, varying the amount of light that's let through the glass roof panel.

This technique, not surprisingly, has proven controversial.

Buckeyes to fire 500 trillion watt laser May 15th in a short, cheap burst

High-energy laser fusion experiments evoke extreme numbers - not only in power but also in greenbacks. Sure, the current champ at the National Ignition facility in Livermore, CA can pump out a 411 trillion watt pulse, but at what price. A taxpayer-busting $200,000 per shot, with a $4 billion original construction cost. Compared to that, the new Ohio State University's 500 trillion watt model seems bargain-basement, built with a mere $6 million grant from the US Department of Energy. Admittedly, that paltry sum get you a much shorter burst, lasting 20 picoseconds compared to the NIF's several nanoseconds.
