Verizon's Motorola Droid Xyboard tablets will be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Well, this is something that doesn't happen often. The carrier-specific versions of the Xyboard tablets by Motorola (specifically, those for Verizon) will get a software update, whereas the Wi-Fi-only models won't. Yes, you read that right. And no, we haven't gotten it backwards. Things usually tend to happen the exact other way round, with Wi-Fi-only tablets getting a lot more updates than carrier-specific models. But such is life in the Android world, it brings us surprises sometimes.

Motorola has updated the website where it lists information about future software upgrades (or lack thereof) for its devices.
