Intel offers software upgrades for its latest low-end processors

Intel offers software upgrades for its latest low-end processors

Do you remember last year in September when Intel gave consumers the option to upgrade some if its processors' software with the use of a specially purchased unlock code. It didn't go down so well with the consumers - after all, who liked the idea of purchasing a “crippled” processor. Well, it looks like Intel didn't learn, or didn't care - because they've done it again this year, this time with their latest low-end Core and Pentium processors. No word on pricing for these unlock keys, but if they follow last year's prices, it should be around $50 for a key.
