Sprint's HTC Evo 3D gets a software update that improves battery life and security

Sprint's HTC Evo 3D has received a new software update. Before you run for the Champagne, you should probably know that this isn't Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It's just a small, but possibly important update. It has three functions. It improves battery life, adds a needed security patch, and comes with an updated HTC Peep client (for social networking).

After applying the update, your phone will run software version 2.17.651.5. The update is available today if you manually check for it. If you don't, your phone will notify you that the update has arrived starting on January 17, when the push rollout begins.
