PS3, PS Vita Can Now Purchase Digital Goods Using Mobile Billing
Sony rolled out an update to its PlayStation Store, or rather, its Sony Entertainment Network that allows patrons to purchase their digital goods through PayPal in addition to the standard method of using a credit card or prepaid card. We assume Sony didn't think three payment options were good enough when it comes to all of the digital goods they have for sale every day, which is probably why the company has rolled out an additional payment method which would use your mobile phone account in order to make a payment.

LEGO And Belkin Team Up For iPhone 5 Case
Back in the day before smartphones and tablets, kids used to play with LEGO to the point where even in our late twenties and early thirties, playing with LEGO is still an enjoyable past time. Well if you have some loose LEGO pieces lying around, LEGO and Belkin have announced a partnership in which the toy maker and case manufacturer have created an official LEGO iPhone 5 case. Given that this is an official LEGO product, it means that it will be compatible with other LEGO pieces you might have lying around the house, thus allowing you to customize your iPhone 5 casing in a rather unique way.

Kia Track'ster still on table, Soul turbo possible
The Soul is a massive success – no news there. In the main, the Soul is a massive success – no news there – with Kia officials telling us that the US is gobbling up 80 to 90 percent of production coming out of the company's Gwangju plant. Counterintuitively, it's doing so well that its demand is actually hurting the viability of potential spinoff models like the 2012 Track'ster concept shown above, along with other variants. The issue is production capacity – or rather a lack thereof.

Facebook Spammers Running A $200 Million Business [Research]
Its actually not that hard to spot spammers on the world's biggest social network. Most of them operate through Facebook Pages, by posting links to direct traffic to third party scam websites. A team of security researchers based in Italy have investigated hundreds of thousands of posts on Facebook to conclude that spamming has become a business that pays north of $200 million annually. Facebook has over a billion users, many of them like dozens of Pages each day, Pages that resonate with their likes and interests. Spammers set up fake Pages, build following and start directing those fans to scam websites.

Coghlan's All-Weather Wallet keeps your cards and cash dry
My father fished.  Watching him fish wasn't like watching the beautiful fishing scenes in A River Runs Through It.  My dad was at war with the fish, and he didn't need any fancy waders to protect himself from the water.  He'd be in up to his chest without any regards for what he had in his pockets, and the contents of his wallet always suffered for it.  If he'd had one of these waterproof All-Weather Wallets from Coghlan's, he probably wouldn't have spent so much time having to separate and dry the contents of his wallet.

BBM for Android gets a sign-up page
Blackberry originally promised us that their Android and iOS messaging apps — affectionately known as Blackberry Messenger or BBM — would be coming to us by the end of summer. By our Gregorian calendar, summer ends September 21st, and we're quickly approaching that date. With that, it's natural that we start seeing and hearing more and more about the arrival of the premium chat service. Samsung has oddly been the biggest megaphone for hype, with the company curiously hyping the service up in South Africa as it will eventually launch in their apps store.

2014 Porsche Cayman S
Second Fiddle Moves To First Chair. In the interest of full disclosure and a bit of bloodletting, allow me to admit that while I've always coveted the Porsche Boxster and its hard-hatted Cayman cousin, I've never really warmed to them visually. They've always had a certain push-me, pull-you, can't-decide-which-way-they're-going aesthetic that I've never really wrapped my head around. Porsche achieved the same thing with the original 550 Spyder's overturned bathtub bodyshell that would come to inspire the Boxster, but somehow that classic's even more symmetrical nature works for me.

DARPA Warrior Web Suit Project
Soldiers are extremely tough people, but even then, they are more susceptible to load-related injuries whenever they are on the field compared to us ordinary folk simply for the fact that these brave men and women tend to walk across for long distances with over 100 pounds of additional weight on their backs because of the gear that they need to carry – which further increases the potential for both injury and exhaustion is great. DARPA hopes to reverse that with the Warrior Web suit project, where it will carry the intention of lightening the load.

HTC One Max Fingerprint Sensor Rumored Again
Earlier this year we heard rumors that HTC had a phablet up its sleeve. The company has teased it a couple of times, but an official announcement is yet to be made. It is expected that HTC will launch the device next month. There have been many rumors about the phablet's specifications, we've heard chatter that it might come with a fingerprint sensor as well. New pictures of an allegedly leaked HTC One Max reveal what is said to be a fingerprint sensor on the back, underneath the camera.
We saw similar pictures last month, which showed off a fingerprint sensor on the back.

SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2.0 Launched
The SMI Eye Tracking Glasses has just received an update, which will aptly be introduced as the SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2.0. This particular design update will see a slimmer form factor, delivering an instant setup, 60Hz eye-tracking performance and a smartphone-based recorder, which happens to be a customized Samsung Galaxy S4 at this point in time. Although it does not look all that geeky, it will also ensure that the new electronics parts within and without deliver a far smoother tracking and shorter gaze time perception, at least that is what SMI shared.

Moto X Allegedly Costs $221 To Build
Consumers always want the best value for money in all the purchases that they make, no doubt about it. The thing about purchasing a smartphone on contract is this – you pay a whole lot less compared to an unlocked device, but the mobile carrier would make the money back on the smartphone through your 2-year contract, and hopefully, that you would spend plenty of time chalking up your talk minutes and data usage throughout the 24 month window period. Having said that, the recently unveiled Moto X from Motorola has been torn down, with the estimated cost of manufacturing for a single unit standing at slightly more than $200 a pop.

Phablet, Bitcoin, Twerk And More Added To Oxford Dictionaries
We've seen a number of “popular” words become part of our history books once the Oxford dictionary adds them to their dictionaries. It looks like that time is upon us once again as the Oxford Dictionaries has added a number of recently popular words, many of them have been upgraded from their slang-term origins. Some words, such as phablet, BYOD (bring your own device) and bitcoin are all words that we've come to know very well over the past few years, and have considered them to be a part of our vocabulary already.

How this Ferrari 250 GTE became Rome's most famous police car
We're used to seeing fancy cars gifted to or bought by certain international police forces today, but the story of this 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE goes well beyond a gift. Because Rome's anti-organized-crime unit, Squadra Mobile, was doing a terrific job in the early '60s, the Italian president asked what they wanted as a token of appreciation. The answer, meant as a joke, was "A Ferrari." The president, in all seriousness, got them two. One was almost immediately destroyed during testing, the other remains in the care of Alberto Capelli today, whose father began attending military and government auctions just after World War II.

Opel reveals updated Insignia OPC sans power boost
We've got good news, friends, and we've got bad news. The good news is that Opel has revealed the new Insignia OPC that we spied recently on the street. The bad news is that it does not have the hike in power we were hoping for. The new Insignia OPC, pictured here in Sports Tourer form, is set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in a couple of weeks. Sitting atop the Opel Performance Center lineup, it's got the same 325-horsepower 2.8-liter twin-turbo V6 and Haldex all-wheel-drive system as the model it replaces, but benefits from some minor enhancements.

Belkin Ultimate Keyboard Case for iPad review
In the past few months, I have been fortunate enough to be able to test out three different Bluetooth keyboards for my iPad. The first one was a snap on/off keyboard cover for the iPad, the second was a folding keyboard, and the this most recent one is the Ultimate Keyboard Case for the iPad by Belkin. (See the related links for my reviews of the other keyboards.) Â Being a case junkie, I have to say I looked forward to this one the most. But did it meet my expectations, or did it fall flat. Let's see.
Installing the case onto my iPad was a breeze. It snaps on easily and stays firmly in place.

Motor Recall app makes game out of identifying vehicle lights at night
What will they think of next. This is an app called Motor Recall, and if you're at all like us, it's pretty much the equivalent of any nighttime car ride as a kid - see a pair of headlights or taillights, pick out the make, model and if you're lucky/good, the year. Now, the clever folks at Case By Case Studios have turned that time-honored way of surviving a long drive into an app. Loaded with over 250 different headlight and taillight patterns, players have the choice of either matching the headlights with taillights in a game called Match, or out and out guessing which vehicle is being shown, not surprisingly, called Guess.

Sony Xperia Z1 press image and metal chassis leaks
The Sony Xperia Z1, erstwhile known as 'Honami', has leaked once again, this time through a press image. This latest image shows the device in three colors: black, white and purple. The colors are identical to the ones the Xperia Z is sold in and the device itself looks remarkably similar.
One major difference between the exterior of the Z and the Z1, however, is the metal frame that runs around the device. It's unclear whether the metal acts are merely the frame for the device or also doubles up as the antenna as on the iPhone.
The Xperia Z1 is Sony's upcoming flagship Android smartphone that has been rumored for quite some time now.

Apple Acquires Public Transit App Developer, Embark
Apple has been making a number of improvements to its Maps iOS application, but ultimately, the service has yet to become as popular as competing services, such as Google Maps. Misinformation and inaccuracies seem to be some of the big issues plaguing Apple's Maps, but if you're someone who relies on public transportation, the service has been completely useless to you up until this point. That is until Apple acquired Embark, who just so happens to have developed a public transit application in the past.

New Windows Phone Ad Highlights The Lumia 1020's Camera Abilities
When it comes to advertising their products, Microsoft has never been shy in comparing themselves against the competition, highlighting some of the disadvantages and flaws of their competitors' products. Well a new advertisement has been released Microsoft where they basically show off the Nokia Lumia 1020's camera abilities. Of course the "enemies" of the ad are the iOS and Android users where they are busy fighting with each other trying to capture the best photo, and there are even a couple of people in the audiences using the iPad to snap photos which is something of a faux pas.

BBM iOS And Android User Guides Leaked
Earlier this year BlackBerry announced that it is finally opening up BlackBerry Messenger to other platforms, iOS and Android to be precise. BBM used to be one of the biggest selling points for BlackBerry devices, but now the messaging service has been eclipsed by competitors such as Viber and WhatsApp. Up till now BBM has only been exclusive to the company's own smartphones. Since its smartphones are not performing as well as they used to in the market, perhaps the company will be able to steal a few customers after they get a taste of BBM on the aforementioned platforms.
